The new Disney Wish cruise ship has officially launched and we were on one of the first voyages, staying in a deluxe family stateroom with a verandah. Join us on a tour of our themed Disney Wish stateroom!

Cruise ship staterooms are small, but the Disney Wish staterooms are slightly roomier than those on other Disney Cruise Line ships. The decorations and theming are very different, with the Disney Wish using more wood paneling and plain whites than the more colorful staterooms on the other ships.

This ship also takes inspiration from Fantasyland and Disney castles. The carpet is blue with white designs reminiscent of the castles. On the left, when entering, is the wood closet.

Behind the first rolling door are hangers with bathrobes. Life jackets for adults and children sit on the top shelves.

The next section has shelves and a safe with a keypad.

The last section has more hanging space. The closet has strip lights that automatically turn on when you open a door.

The edge of the closet unit has several triangular shelves. You’ll notice shelves that aren’t behind a door have small metal railings to keep things from sliding off during sailing.

Across from the closets are two doors. These lead to the split bathroom.

The door furthest from the stateroom’s front door leads to the shower. It has a mirror hanging on the back of the door.

The shower and tub have a glass door instead of a curtain, which is standard on the other ships.

There is a marble top vanity.

Shelves hold small towels, including one for makeup removal. There’s H2O+ body lotion.

Our H2O+ facial soap had Captain Minnie on the box.

There are small glass shelves in the shower, which has white tile walls.

H2O+ shampoo, conditioner, and body wash sit on one shelf.

The next door, closest to the front door, has this decorative piece on the front featuring the Disney Cruise Line logo.

Inside is another vanity and the toilet.

There are two light switches, one for nighttime.

The mirror above the vanity lights up.

There are glass shelves on the wall here too.

The towels also feature the Disney Cruise Line logo.

The toilets are flushed using a button on the wall. It is behind the lid, so you have to close the lid to flush.

The sheets are plain white, but there are themed pillowcases and a bed runner.

The runner has the Wish logo at the center.

The top and bottom have the Disney Cruise Line logo repeating.

The pillowcases have subtle Disney Cruise Line logo accents.

They have golden embroidery around their edges, with small Mickey heads at the corners.

Each stateroom features artwork inspired by different Disney fairytales. Ours was “Moana” themed, so this painting of Te Fiti hung above the bed.

Both sides have a small mounted end table with a drawer. There are several lights and switches on the sides of the bed, too. The knob directly under the mounted lamp controls that lamp. Below that is a small adjustable reading light with its own knob.

The lampshades are white, with decorations at the bottom that match the pillowcases.

The switches control the overhead lights. There is one USB-c, two USBs, and two standard outlets on this side.

There are two more USB outlets on this side and a European-style outlet.

The TV is mounted on the wall across from the bed.

The stateroom can be split in half using a privacy curtain. There’s a vanity with shelves and drawers past the curtain.

The room phone is mounted on one shelf, instead of by the bed.

The mirror on this vanity also lights up. You can turn it off with one of the switches below. Each switch is labeled, and there are more outlets on this unit.

There’s an ottoman to sit on.

And four glasses, topped with Disney Cruise Line-branded paper lids.

The hairdryer is in one of these drawers.

The biggest drawer is a mini-fridge.

Across from this unit is the couch.

Another work of “Moana” art is above the couch.

The couch is blue with silver touches. There’s a small wooden table to move around.

Artwork of Pua and Hei Hei is on the other wall.

The last wood-paneled unit here houses a bed.

There is a thin door that reveals several small shelves.

You don’t have to worry about folding down beds. Your stateroom porter will take care of that while you are at dinner.

We were surprised that there is no art on the wall above the Murphy bed.

The sofa can also be folded into a bed.

And, if need be, another bed is pulled out of the ceiling. The porter will then provide a ladder to reach this bed.

On the ceiling above the bunk bed is a night sky with the Fairy Godmother writing “A dream that you wish will come true” in the stars.

Another curtain and a sliding glass door lead out to the verandah.

The floor of the verandah is wood paneled. There are two white patio chairs with the Disney Cruise Line logo on the backs. A small wood-top table is between them. The railings are open but with Plexiglass panels to keep guests from dropping things between the rails.
